12. Прочитайте и переведите текст.

Novosibirsk State Water Transport Academy

    Novosibirsk State Water Transport Academy trains specialists for river and sea fleet. Its specialists work in water transport, business and engineering. The Academy was founded in 1951. It has branches in Omsk, Tomsk, Krasnoyarsk, Yakutsk. About 10 thousand students study at the Academy. There are five departments: the Navigation department, the Hydrotechnical department, the Port Operations Management department, the Shipmechanical department, the Electromechanical department.

    First-year students study mathematics, physics, drawing, philosophy, foreign languages, history. Then the students major in their profession. They take professional courses. Students attend practical classes, take notes of the lectures. Students have practical training in ports and shipping companies. Each academic year consists of two terms. At the end of each term students have exam period. They pass exams and receive credits.

    There are class-rooms, laboratories, libraries, and a computer-center for students. The Academy also has a sport complex. There are three buildings and one laboratory building. They are situated in the center of Novosibirsk. There are two hostels for students from other cities and villages.

    The graduates of the Academy get engineer diploma. Students can study at full-time and correspondence departments.
