My analysis of the article

My analysis of the article

     The name of the article that I`m going to analyze is “Emotional Intelligence” made by Judge Robbins. The author of the article tells about the term Emotional Intelligence (what it is, what it’s composed of), role of EI, cases for and against EI and also gives the conclusion of discussion of emotions and moods described previously in the Organisational behavior (2008).

     The purpose of the article is to show us what the EI is and make good and bad sides of EI clear.

     The name of the article is “Emotional Intelligence” but author gives insufficient concept of EI. Definition of EI is more complex, than it was mentioned in the article; it is too extensive subject to be described in a few words. But on the other hand author tells a lot about cases for and against EI and because of that article is better named “Cases for and against Emotional Intelligence”. It is one of the disadvantages. The second disadvantage is that there is no reference to the research data on EI for better article acceptation. It is easier to understand information when you get additional facts. Next disadvantage is that author uses the term “OB” without any mention what it is. When you read an article that contains unknown terms you cannot keep understanding this article. On more disadvantages is that this article contains the last section named “OB applications of emotions and moods” that has nothing to do with a main idea of the article.

     At first, the article is divided into several parts making the text more memorable. But the leveling of the text is different from page to page. For example on the page 271 text located on the left side of the list but on the page 272 on the right side. It is a rough mistake because it distracts the reader.

     Also, there is one more disadvantage of the article. Author use not simple language containing a lot of difficult sentences and terms.

     I think that article should be written in simple language to be clear after first time of reading. As for me it was hard to understand the article after the first reading and I had to use a dictionary. Author should use simple stile of writing, so that the article can be understandable for everyone.

     And the last disadvantage of the article I wont to describe is not giving a whole information about Emotional Intelligence.

     None the less I found in this article the good side, it is a presence of small picture. I think that our eyes perceive the information better if it is separated from the whole text or if it is represented as a picture.
